News: 2007 SCHOOL LEADERS

Title

2007 SCHOOL LEADERS

Body

On Friday 27 October 2006 the incoming School Leaders and School Captains for 2007 were recognised at an Induction Ceremony in the School Hall, attended by parents and community members.

The 2007 School Leaders are drawn from all years at the school, voted in by their peers to represent the school at official events and to put forward their fellow students’ views on a range of issues.

Keynote speaker at the Induction Ceremony was Graham Murphy, Antarctic Adventurer who accompanied Tony Mowbray on his 2004 Antarctic Expedition.  Graham spoke to students about the importance of teamwork and the role of leadership.

This is a significant event in the school calendar as the current Year 12 comes to the end of their school days and the next generation of senior students take over the role of leadership within the school.

The leadership roles within the school are an important element of personal development as young people develop their communication skills and take on the role of ambassador for the school.
