Rugby League is alive and kicking at Rutherford Technology High School with the school's open team winning the Hunter final of the University Shield.

Rutherford defeated Toronto High 38-22 at Maitland Sportsground to secure its place in the next round of the State wide Combined High Schools (CHS) knockout.
